Free2B! accepts donated cars, repairs them and then donates them to eligible Anoka County Minnesota residents to help them achieve economic security and self-sufficiency. Free2B! helps residents who are Welfare to Work, Immigrants, Unemployed, Under Employed, Disabled, or Seniors.

For the Free2B! car donation program, cars are donated to Free2B! then inspected by collaborative repair shops, repaired and donated to individuals or families in need. Before an applicant is eligible for a donated vehicle, they must complete a basic budgeting class with the University of Minnesota Extension program entitled "Dollars into $ense." Vehicles are donated to individuals on a Car Care Saturday and the recipients are also required to attend the budget class and vehicle maintenance class.

Free2B! has fourteen repair sites that repair one vehicle a month for Free2B! with donated labor. Free2B! has three parts suppliers that provide parts at their cost and one of which provides the first $600 per month free of charge.

Recipients must be residents of Anoka County Minnesota for at least 6 months and qualify for the car based on the target populations previously described. Steps to apply:

  1. Verify individual meets qualifications
  2. Fill out Free2B application
  3. Turn in required documentation listed on front of application
